Care instructions

HOW TO CARE FOR COTTON TEXTILES

Pillows attract dust, dirt, bacteria, and mites. Even decorative throw pillows are susceptible, which means they must be cleaned regularly too. Pillow covers may be removable and machine washable; check their labels for the right cleaning codes. Pillows made with wool, velvet, or silk should be dry-cleaned, just like anything with intricate beading, embroidery, or trim.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Remove spills immediately by scraping up as much of the substance as you can with a plastic spoon, scraping towards the middle of the spill. If the stain is in a main area, consider doing a test in an inconspicuous area first. To do so, simply soak a cotton ball in water and dab it lightly on the pillow. If the color bleeds, take the pillow to a dry cleaner. If the color does not bleed, you can spot clean the pillow yourself.

For spot cleaning, add a few drops of mild dishwashing liquid to lukewarm water. Stir until sudsy, then dip a cloth into the water. Blot the stain with the damp cloth. Use a clean cloth moistened with fresh, clean water to blot any soap residue. Allow the damp area to dry completely. If the pillow cover could not be removed and you are worried about the fabric fading, let the pillow dry in a shaded but well-ventilated area.

Regularly hand-fluff pillows to maintain their original softness and springiness.
